⛳️ Women's All Gippsland Singles ⛳️ A beautiful fine day with gusting winds welcomed 62 women from all over Gippsland for the All Gippsland Singles at Maffra on Tuesday 29th November. It was the 110th playing of this event which is a great achievement. The All Gippsland champion for 2022 was Bec Thomas (Leongatha) who had a fabulous day particularly on the greens with some great up and downs to win by 6 shots carding 78 off the stick.The runner up was Leanne Pollard (Drouin) who recorded 84. Bec went oh so close to also taking out the Div 1 nett event 78-5-73 as she was runner up on a countback to the winner Simone Mc Donald (Sale) 89-16-73.Congratulations Bec on your fantastic win! The division 2 scratch winner was Jackie Murray (Maffra) 94 gross from Frankie Maclennan (Yarram) 96. In the Div 2 nett event it was two Maffra players who took out the awards with Jackie Murray 94-23-71 the winner from Elizabeth Hatwell 100-27-73. South Gippsland golfers featured in the balls down the line with Barb Britten (Foster) 92-16-75, Marg Tuckett (Woorayl) 103-25-78 and Elly Berryman (Woorayl) 88-9-79 – well done! The nearest the pins were a clean sweep to South Gippsland golfers with 2nd Bec Thomas (Leongatha), 7thEliza Nudelman (Foster), 12th Andrea Thorson (Meeniyan), 16th Kaye Dumbleton (Leongatha) (lucky card draw). Jen Nickell also was acknowledged for her Eagle on the 6th hole. Bec Thomas and her partner Andrea Thorson (Meeniyan) were runners up on the Monday in the All Gippsland Foursomes event.It was a fabulous two days of golf and it has been announced that the All Gippslands will be played at Phillip Island next year on 23 – 24 October 2023.
