Friday September 6th, Lang Lang Golf Club hosted the 2024 SGGI Women’s Singles Championships. The course was presented in excellent condition despite the recent battering winds that have affected many of the district clubs.
Chloe Wilson, from Lang Lang Golf Club won the 2024 South Gippsland Women’s Singles Championship with 83 off the stick. This is her first time playing in the event and at a mere twenty years of age – I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of her. Rebecca Thomas (Leongatha) had 77 nett to win the A Grade handicap event.
The B Grade Championship was won by Merryn Dear (Wonthaggi) with 94 off the stick. Merryn also won the B Grade handicap event with (20) 74 nett.
The C Grade Championship winner was Anna de Bondt (29) (Leongatha), with a score of 104, who was delighted at her win. She was doubly delighted to find that she had also won the C Grade handicap event with 34 stableford points.
The nearest the pins were won by Catherine Bolding 5th, Merryn Dear 9th, Simone Lindsay 13th (all from Wonthaggi) and Emily Jolly 15th (Lang Lang).
