2023 SGG Womens Foursomes Championships

Held friday 1st September, at Lang Lang Golf Club.

Thirty -two pairs played in perfect Spring weather. Most players would have been pleased with the extra run not experienced on many other district courses at the moment. That extra run was, however, a bit tricky around the greens.

The Scratch Foursomes Championship was won by Robyn Galloway and Barb Warren from Foster Golf Club. They finished the day with a scratch score of 95. Last year this combination won the Handicap division so they would both be well pleased with the result today.
The handicap winners in this section were Marg Johnson and Merryn Dear from Wonthaggi Golf Club with 80.5 nett.
Wonthaggi Golf Club also took the honours in the B Grade Handicap event with Marg Ryan and Heather Wintle finishing with 78.5 nett.
Heather Payne and Megan Barker, from Lang Lang Golf Club won the Minor Scratch Foursomes with 109.
Down the line balls went to the following pairs: Nan Meagher and Marg Griffiths 81.5 (Leongatha), Adrianne Anglin and Helen Coghlan 81.5 (Phillip Island), Sue van Gaal and Cath Briant 82 (Lang Lang), Colleen Touzel and Robin Smith 82 (Leongatha), Lee Andrews and Maria Warburton 83 (Lang Lang), Rena Casey and Jennifer Sullivan 83.5 (Lang Lang), Lianne Adamson and Karen de Groot 83.5 (Leongatha) and Heather Payne and Megan Barker 83.5 (Lang Lang).

There were two nearest the pins provided on the day: Heather Coghlan from Phillip Island was successful on the 12th and Lianne Adamson from Leongatha Golf Club on the very tricky 5th hole.
