2026 Joyce Berry Fourball Par

Thanks to Trish Owen for the report on the Joyce Berry 4BBB par event held at Lang Lang Golf Club Sept 7th 2026

After a thirty minute rain delay the rescheduled Joyce Berry 4BBB Par Championships was underway with 56 players from around the district at Lang Lang Golf Club today in less than desirable conditions.

This event, established over 40 years ago, recognises Joyce Berry, a former Wonthaggi Golf Club Captain, Champion, and South Gippsland Ladies Golf Association Life member. Most clubs in the district were represented, and prize winners came from various clubs.

Andrea Thorson and Elly Berryman from Meeniyan Golf Club took out the ultimate honours, winning the Joyce Berry 4BBB Par Championship A Grade scratch event with 87.

The B Grade Scratch was awarded to Sheryl Smith and Vicki Ramage from Phillip Island Golf Club, with a final score of 92.

Another Phillip Island duo, Rhonda Boyd and Lesley Meadowcroft, cleaned up the A Grade handicap event finishing with +6.

The B Grade Handicap winners were Fran Kearney and Jenny Fraser from Leongatha Golf Club also finishing with a very respectable +6.

Down the line balls went to 103: Emma Hall and Lyn McCole (Phillip Is), Yvonne Everitt and Jenny McRae (Wonthaggi), Merrissa Cosson and Julie Hillberg (Korumburra), Beth Curram and Shirley Cook (Foster), Meagan Elbaz and Michelle Pardo (Phillip Is), Faye Le Page and Jan Trease (Meeniyan) and Jeanette Diss and Mary Blackwood (Phillip Island).

Nearest the pins went to Marianne Leaver (Leongatha) on the 5th, Lesley Meadowcroft on the 9th, Rhonda Boyd on the 12th, and Fran Kearney was the closest on the 15th.

The South Gippsland Golf Inc. Women’s committee would like to extend thanks to Lang Lang Golf Club for their organisation in running the event and the roast pork and veg which was well appreciated after contending with the less than desirable weather.
