When available, the draw and other details will be posted here.
– The 2026 season will commence on Sunday 4 October and be played over five round robin contests. The format is subject to Golf Australia’s discretion for district associations entering the competition.
– Depending on the number of teams that participate and the number of regions, it is envisaged that the fifth and final round will be played by November 1.
– The finals will be contested as handicap match play and likely to be held in metropolitan Melbourne on the dates listed below.
– The finals series will begin on Sunday 8 November with the final to be held on Sunday 22 November.
– For each team entered there should be at least 9 players available. E.g. 2 teams = 18 available players.
– The competition is open to boys & girls aged under 18 as at 1/10/2026.
– Divisions will be determined on a regional basis and consist of a maximum of six teams

Woorayl Golf Club hosted the first round of the Victorian junior pennant series on Sunday, with the South Gippsland Sharks taking on Rossdale GC in challenging, windy conditions.
The Sharks proved too strong on home turf to take the win 4/2.
Results
Levi Perkins halved his match, Billie Wrigley won 6&5, Ayden Walters lost 4&2, Ethan Smith won 3&1, Shem Hickey halved his match, Callum Smith won 6&4.
Many thanks to players and management from the Rossdale GC who played with great spirit and respect, many thanks to Mat Wrigley, Mark Carruthers and Michael Thomas for helping organise our team, the Woorayl GC for the course and hospitality, our sponsors and also parents who came along to caddy and provide some food for the players at the end.
Next week we are at Phillip Island for Round Two.
Round Two of the Victorian Junior Pennant Series was hosted at Phillip Island on Sunday between Settlers Run and the South Gippsland Sharks.
In a close battle, the Sharks overcame their visitors 3.5 to 2.5 to be at the top of the ladder in our section.
Highlights: Levi Perkins draining an 18-foot birdie putt on the 17th to win 2&1, Phillip Island’s Harry Bentley winning 6&4 in his first junior pennant outing for the Sharks.
Win two wins each, the match came down to the efforts of juniors Cody Naismith and Thomas Simon. Thomas was five down after nine but battled throughout to get a half, whilst Cody Naismith was one-down with three to go – exactly the moment a huge storm smashed through the island – but managed to get the win one-up on the 18th to win the match for the Sharks. Well done boys!!
Thomas’ dad Brendan said later: “It was his first big struggle being down by so much and not believing he could climb back up the mountain. I knew he could turn it around if he could get his game back on track, and once the momentum changed he had a spring in his step and kept it going. I hope he learned a lot. Never ever give up. It’s never over till it’s over”.

Round three of the Victorian Junior Pennant Series was held at Lang Lang GC on Sunday, the unbeaten Sharks taking on the Spring Valley Scorpions.
Despite their best efforts the Sharks were defeated 4.5/1.5.

Billie Wrigley halved his match, Ayden Walters lost 3&2, Ethan Smith lost 6&4, Ben Martin lost 6&5, Harry Bentley lost 2&1, Callum Smith won 6&5.
Great fight from our lads giving away a lot of shots to high handicappers.
This week we play at Warragul GC, and with only two rounds to go we need wins to make the finals.
Round Four of the Victorian Junior Pennant Series was held at Warragul Golf Club yesterday with the Sharks needing to beat the local lads West Gippsland on their home turf.
Given the rainy weather both teams warmed up at the amazing simulator The Birdie Hub, kindly hosted by Ben Fitzpatrick. With several bays set-up, comfortable lounges, merchandise, apparel and equipment The Birdie Hub is a must-see for league golfers, players needing an indoor range or to simply hone your putting skills on their large indoor putting green. Thanks Ben!!
The rain came in just after tee-off and it was a battle just to stay focused. Unfortunately the Sharks went down 1.5/4.5 in a brave effort.

Last round next Sunday will be at the National GC on the Peninsula – a beautiful, big course offering the ultimate challenge!
Round five of the Victorian Junior Pennant Series saw the South Gippsland Sharks take on The National at the Gunnamatta Course on the Peninsula on Sunday.
Despite our strongest efforts the Sharks came up just short in the match to lose 4/2 against our hosts on their spectacular golf course.

Levi Perkins won 2&1, Billie Wrigley lost 4&3, Ayden Walters won 2&1, Ben Martin lost 3&1, Max Carter lost 6&5, Cody Naismith lost 2 down.
The Sharks didn’t proceed to the finals this year but our players have had another year of matchplay experience under their belts, and we can continue to build from here.
Big shoutout to Levi Perkins who won three Country Week matches in the men’s Plate win this year in Mildura and backed it up with great performances in our junior pennant.

Round 1:
Our Sharks – Billie Wrigley (Korumburra), Ayden Walters (Woorayl), Lucas Saric (Phillip Island), Aaron Saric (Phillip Island), Fletcher McLennan (Woorayl), Cody Naismith (Red Rocks) – fought hard, but went down to the Settlers Run Kangaroos, 2-4.
Round 2:
Good to see our Sharks fought hard to secure a draw in round 2. Seems like a close competition, with 2 matches played and no team has 2 wins – best is 2 teams with 1 win and 1 draw. Hopefully we can have a win next week (27/10) and put ourselves in the mix – though we have an away match so Ranfurlie will have home course advantage.
Round 3:
Big thanks to Ranfurlie Golf Club for hosting round 3 of Vic Junior Pennant on Sunday.
Our boys worked hard on some very firm greens but eventually lost 4.5/1.5 to the local lads on their home track.
All great experiences for our boys coming up against bigger clubs in the region.
Huge thanks to our senior Country Week members for coming down to support our players and the many mums, dads and other family members who helped make it an enjoyable day.
Round 4:
Our South Gippsland junior pennant players recorded their breakthrough win yesterday at the challenging Sandhurst Champions layout in Cranbourne, playing against the local lads with some very good swings.
We recorded a 4.5/1.5 win in the matches, with junior captain Billie Wrigley (unbeaten after four rounds) having a 6/5 win against their top player. Other winners were Ayden Walters 2up, Shem Hickey 4/2, little Thomas Simon 3/2, whilst Aaron Saric halved his match, and his brother Lucas lost 3/2.
Brilliant performance by the lads and once again many thanks to hosts Sandhurst G.C. members for the use of the course, the parents who made it down and the hospitality shown to our players and families.
Next week the final round will be played at Phillip Island Golf Club where we are hoping to notch another win.
Round 5:
Our South Gippsland Sharks junior pennant team finished the season strongly, with a brilliant 3.5/2.5 win against The National team at Phillip Island on Sunday.
A great showing again from our juniors and confirmation we can compete against some big clubs and great young players.
Congrats to every player selected for the Sharks and your efforts every week.
Thanks to all the clubs involved in this exciting event, the parents, siblings, senior players who caddied and South Gippsland Golf for the uniforms, hospitality and support.

Round 1 (9 Oct) was played at Phillip Island Golf Club in pleasant conditions. The South Gippsland Sharks played the Patterson River Pirates, with the Sharks having their first win, 4 matches to 2. Winners of the day were Brock Mottrom, Josh Smith, Harry Bentley and Aaron Saric (walkover).

Round 2 saw the Sharks take on Cranbourne Golf Club at their home course. The team fought hard but could not replicate the winning form from Round 1, going down 5 matches to 1. Billie Wrigley was the sole winner with a solid 4/3 win.

Round 3 saw the Sharks take on The National GC at their home course (Long Island).
The team had a good result with the contest tied 3 matches each – that’s a win in my book when playing away !!
Winners were: Brock Mottrom (Lang Lang Golf Club), Josh Smith (Woorayl Golf Club), Aaron Saric (Phillip Island Golf Club).

Round 4 saw the Sharks take on Spring Valley Golf Club at their home course.
The team played well, having 2 wins and 2 matches going down to the wire on the 18th hole, but ultimately fell just short giving Spring Valley a 4-2 win.
3 of our players were giving 20, 22 and 26 shots to their opponents, which would have been a mental challenge to say the least.

Round 5 saw the Sharks take on Sandhurst Golf Club at Korumburra Golf Club.
The team made their final round very memorable, pulling off a 5.5 to 0.5 win over some extremely good junior golfers.
There were some very solid wins, some grinding wins and one halved match.
Handicap was on our side this week, with Sandurst players having to give up between 13-18 shots. Billie was playing a +2 marker and Max was playing a 1 marker !!

With that win we jumped up above Sandurst on the ladder, finishing 4th for the seaon with 2 wins, 1 tie and 2 losses.
A great effort considering nearly all our juniors have never played pennant before.
