Held Friday 27th October at Foster Golf Club, this event has been held annually for over 40 years. Joyce Berry, in whose honour the event is held, was a Captain and Champion at Wonthaggi Golf Club for many years, as well as holding long term positions as a South Gippsland delegate and Country Teams member.
The conditions were quite heavy, no surprises there, but the weather was perfect.
Foster Golf Club reigned supreme, winning all four major events. The Championship was won by Club Captain Beth Curram and Rachel Brown, with a scratch score of 86. Beth (22) and Rachel (21) also won the handicap event with +7.
Frances McGlead (33) and new player Kylie Collins (31) combined well to take out the Minor Scratch event with 97. They finished their round with +5 to also win the B Grade Handicap event.
Colleen Touzel (Leongatha) almost holed out on the 17th par 3 to win the nearest the pin and Elly Berryman (Woorayl) also had a great shot on the 6th.
